Airport Development Fee

From Monday 5th January 2009, Blackpool International will introduce ADF.

Airport Development Fee (ADF) Information

The introduction of the Airport Development Fee (ADF) at Blackpool International will supplement continued investment from the airports owners, Balfour Beatty, to improve passenger facilities, develop the infrastructure and grow the route and airline network to offer a wider choice of destinations to our passengers and in turn, secure the airports future here in Blackpool.

Who has to pay the ADF?

All adult passengers (16 years and over), departing from Blackpool International will be required to purchase a £10 ADF ticket. All child passengers (15 years and under), departing from Blackpool International will require an ADF ticket but no fee will be charged.

Blackpool International reserves the right to refuse access to its facilities to passengers not in possession of a valid ADF ticket.

Airport Development Fee (ADF) FAQs

How do I purchase my ticket?
Either on arrival at the airport or after check-in, two pay machines are located at the rear of check-in. Please ensure that you have obtained your ADF tickets before proceeding through to departures. The pay machines will take cash and credit card payments and a bar coded ticket will be dispensed. At the entrance to security, tickets will be scanned to allow access.Tickets can be retained and will act as receipt of payment. Development of Blackpool Internationals website is ongoing and it is hoped that online payment of the ADF will be available in the very near future.

What will the ADF money be spent on?
The ADF will assist with the funding of future developments in airport infrastructure, passenger facilities and airline and route development.

Future developments planned include:

  • Terminal reconfiguration
  • Car Park upgrade and development
  • Ongoing route development
  • Upgraded/improved facilities in Domestic & International Arrivals
  • Expanded security area

The money collected will by no means be sufficient to fund all necessary development and Balfour Beatty, the airports owners will continue to invest in Blackpool International in order to secure its future and to provide passengers and airlines with the best of service and facilities..
